The first daylily has bloomed. this one dosnt have a name a local hybridizer breed this one and didnt name it it has long petals.

Thought it would be great to post some pics of before and after of the garden. I bought the land in spring of 2007. It has been a lot of work to get it to the garden it is today and will be many more years to get the rest of the garden out of my head into the ground.

the Colocasia's are starting to send out runners this one is black pearl and it has three runners coming out so far.

Panda the cat lounging on the walkway the red flowers are Crocosmia 'Lucifer' and the vine growing over the pergola is Fiveleaf Akebia also known as chocolate vine cause the flowers smell like chocolate it gets great edible fruit in the fall that taste like a bland custard.
The giant lily has bloomed i planted it four years ago i have never seen it bloom it should have bloomed last year but a strong wind storm broke it off this year i staked it it is now over five feet tall but should grow another foot next year. It is called 'Lavon'.

This is the chair that i built for the patio im gonna make a bench and table to match it.
Double Echinacea in the shade it is light pink but in the sun it is bright pink.
this is mexican papyrus and the pads at the bottom are a lotus that i started from seed it is sopost to be a blue one not sure if it will be cold hardy gonna trial it. i have some other ones that i will put in the green house for the winter.
Papyrus  if you cut off one top and turn it upside down in a glass of water you will have a new plant in a few weeks this was started from a piece i found on the ground at a nursery.

This water lily is' Arc-en-ciel' it has great leaf patterns from burg to green leaves with spots of pink and cream. the flower is a pale pink and today was the first time it has bloomed.

Petasites hybridus we did have a bad hail storm the other night which put some holes in the leaves.
